HGV Jobs

Class 2 Category C Driver

We are looking for a Class 2 Category C Driver to join one of clients. If you are an experienced or new responsible driver who takes pride in their vehicle and service, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver fresh cooking oil in 20L cans to caterers, restaurants, and takeaways.
  2. Collect waste oil in various container sizes, including:
  3.  20L cans
  4. 120L, 150L, and 200L barrels
  5. Wheelie bins
  • Use the app for job orders, delivery descriptions, and to record amounts collected and delivered. Generate delivery notes via the app.
  • Ensure safety: Secure barrels and wheelie bins safely, ensuring all items are properly strapped.
  • Pallet wrapping and sealing: Ability to wrap and seal open-top barrels for safe transport.
  • Unloading assistance: Work with yard staff to unload the lorry upon return to the yard.
    Vehicle Maintenance & Cleanliness:
  • Keep the lorry clean and organised at all times, ensuring:
  1. Delivered goods are separated from collected waste.
  2. Clean glass, mirrors, and interior—no greasy steering wheels, pedals, or door handles!
  3. Avoid leaving greasy fingerprints on wing mirrors, door handles, and tail lifts.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as changing bulbs or adding coolant.
  • Report defects or damage immediately and understand the difference between drivable and non-drivable defects (e.g., engine management light is not a stop-the-vehicle issue, but certain defects require immediate attention).

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 2 Category C Licence.
  • Experience in a similar role or knowledge of delivering goods in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of loading and unloading.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Age 30+

Full and Part-time HGV Instructors/Former Drivers wishing to become Instructors.
Part Time PCV Instructor/Former Driver
3 years active driving experience and a clean licence is necessary.
Full Training and Uniform provided

You will be working closely with instructors and managers.
You will also need to be a team player with good communication skills and an enthusiastic approach in the support and training of our pupils.

Monday to Friday 7am-5.30pm £35k
