What can you drive with a C1 licence?
If you get the C1 licence you can easily drive the medium-sized vehicle between 3.5 tonnes up to a maximum of 7.5 tonnes.
With this licence you can get jobs such as delivery drivers, paramedics, or ambulance drivers. Driving licence of category C1 + E means you can add a trailer.
Steps to get a C1 Licence
Apply for a provisional licence
To drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle you must hold a full driving licence for a car, and apply for the provisional C1 licence.
Getting Training
We can train you to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle, with or without a trailer. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the training so that you are confident driving and parking the vehicle. If you need to drive with a trailer we will teach you how to reverse safely and how to couple and uncouple the trailer. We will help to prepare you for your driving test, which is why we have a high first time pass rate.
Pass your test
When your test date comes up you will feel ready to pass all aspects of the test. If you need to also pass the initial driver CPC we can test you as we have an on-site CPC Module 4 delegated examiner at our Reading depot.
